Modcon has supplied two complete analytical systems to measure the concentration of Benzene and Aromatics for a major water treatment project in India. The systems are based on the gas-chromatography technique and designed to be installed in the analyzer houses.
It is important to demonstrate the effectiveness of control technologies used for the treatment of any benzene that is released from the aqueous effluent of aromatic production facilities. The European Commission has recently completed an extensive review of benzene’s health and environmental effects under its existing substances regulation. Over the past 30 to 40 years, several studies have been undertaken on the biodegradation of benzene. Unfortunately, many of these testing methods are not of an acceptable quality today.
